Welcome Wagon

Hello, Composers. Yes, if you are in an ENG 101 class, you are a composer because the class is a composition class. Another word for composer is writer. Writing is fun as you've learned so far. In addition to essays, you've written paragraphs. Blogging is a way to write paragraphs, too. In the blog world, writers can share their writing. That's the purpose here.

This blog's mantra: Write and Share.

Say it with me: "Write and share."

I'll occasionally write posts about the topics we discuss. Your job is to write posts about the topics, too. I have linked all your blogs under Classmate Linkage. You should click at will and see what your classmates have to say.

Write and share!

DO NOW:
If you haven't done so already, create your own account and blog on Blogger using the directions on Blackboard. Write your own Welcome Post. Copy and paste the link to your blog into the dropbox on Blackboard. (The URL link should be something.blogspot.com as the URL link to this blog is everyonelovesessays.blogspot.com).
Then come back to this blog. Please click on Comments and write some commentary on what you think you’ll like about this class, and what you will not like about this class. Offer some goals you’d like to achieve.

  1. One thing I am most looking forward to in English 101 is leaning to write better. I have a ton of big projects I've been wanting to start on, but have been discouraged because they all involve writing. I'm hoping to learn new styles of writing and better techniques to make such projects more enjoyable and easier for me. One thing I am not looking forward to in English 101 would the the tight schedule between my wring assignments, and my art projects. I take three art classes, so I am going to have to try to find time to incorporate everything in my schedule.

  2. Writing is a very important skill that is applied almost every day. Our future carers would definitely require this skill. I would like to write better essays and paragraph as a result of this class. I hope this class will be very beneficial to all of us!

  3. I am looking forward to keeping a blog to keep a record of my experiences and look back to see how much I have changed.

Regardless of which career path any of us decide to take, I believe that to become a sophisticated person, higher level English is a necessity.

Out of all the classes in my schedule this semester, English would have to be the class that I have been most excited to attend.

  5. What I won't look forward to is writing the papers we will be assigned but my goal is to learn to be a better writer, learn new skills and then eventually look forward to writing papers. What I'm looking forward to in class is writing on this blog we have created. This is like a public diary that I can't wait to look back on.

  6. Writing is something that I do on daily basis. I like to write in my journal, and post things on my personal blog. I am looking forward to write better, and understand how to write essays. Although I've written many times before, this class will help my enhance my writing skills.
What I'm not excited for is having to write the MLA research essay. I'm one to procrastinate, but my goal this semester is have better time management, and not procrastinate.

  9. I don't mind writing but I'm not looking forward to essays. I like to write short responses. I'm hoping to get over the bad habit of not liking essays and I'm sure I will achieve my goal by continuously forcing myself to write.

  10. I'm mostly looking forward learning as much as I can from this class. I find writing as a great way to express myself. However, one thing I am not looking forward to are the research papers and essays.

I have a tendency to get distracted and lose focus. But, I hope to improve that by the end of this semester.

Writing has never been my favorite subject but I know it is important since its a great way to express yourself. I'm looking forward to learning how to express myself in a simpler way.

  20. I have generally found English, composition in particular, to be straight forward. I am expecting to type many essays and mini-essays. I am not looking forward to reading books. Its really important for me to have an interesting book and most English professors do not usually pick interesting books.

  29. Finally was able to get my browser to allow commenting. While I am not terribly fond of writing I am required to do so within my career on a regular basis. So far this class has proven to be interesting, and the exercises entertaining. I hope to advance and hone my literary skills within this class.
